Chair of Queen Hetepheres (Reproduction)

During excavations the gold casings that covered this furniture was discovered. The wood had all but decayed, so reproductions were made based on the casings that remained.

 

 

 

Round Legged Stool made from Ebony and Ivory

The seat would have been made of leather.

Made from wood and straw. Stools used in life like this one were often buried with the dead in tombs.

This box was secured by wrapping a cord between the knob on the lid and a knob on the side of the box.

The legs of this stool are in the shape of lion’s paws. The stool originally had a woven rush seat.
